New York Canal Times
looks forward to its second year
Spring will soon be here, and it's time to start thinking
about the 2007 canal season. We hope you've watched our
website; it is constantly being updated with new material,
especially notices of upcoming canal-related events. New
York Canal Times also offered a special, one-time
issue as a special gift of thanks to our readers to carry
you through the winter months. We are especially gratified
with the interest shown in our website. The response has
been no less than incredible.
This first year of Canal Times was a great success.
We are constantly receiving praise for the work we have
done on this publication, and we could not be more honored
and pleased. Thanks are due to those of you who have sent
us your story ideas, those whom have done business with
us as a subscriber or advertiser and those whom have called
or written just to tell us we are doing a good job. Canal
Times would not be what it is today without the support
of all of you. Editor Richard Palmer has been doing a tremendous
job of gathering your news and stories, and will continue
to do so with your support. Richard may be reached at any
time via editor@nycanaltimes.com .
New York Canal Times is an ever-evolving entity,
and readers need to be aware of important changes that
have been made to the production schedule. Originally,
we had planned to publish Canal Times as a quarterly publication,
but we have since decided that the most efficient production
schedule is during the canal navigation season, (specifically
May through September). Therefore, readers and advertisers
can expect five issues of Canal Times in the
2007 calendar year.
It is our commitment to our readers and business partners
to keep you as current as possible for canal news in our
great state. In order to keep our readers in tune with
developing news during the off-season, we have developed
a new feature on our website ( www.nycanaltimes.com )
that is incorporated into this special winter issue. You
will find a new section on the website with the title, Canal
Times on the Web .
We plan to keep this section of our website updated constantly,
and it will soon become your premiere source for breaking
news relating to the New York State canal corridor. Most
news items found on Canal Times on the Web will
not be reproduced in the print version of the paper, so
make sure to check back at our website regularly.
Again, thank you all so much for your support and appreciation
of New York Canal Times . We will continue to
do our best to bring you a timely, high-quality publication
and website for years to come.
